The following are the three types of visas for traveling to Albania that can be obtained through the eVisa portal:
- Transit Visa: This visa is also known as Visa Type “A”. It gives the holder the right to enter and stay in the international area of an airport circulation until necessary for the next flight to the country of destination.
- Short Stay Visa: This visa is also known as Visa Type “C”. It is a visa that allows the holder to stay in Albania for 90 to 180 days, with single or multiple entries.
- Long Stay Visa: This visa is also known as Visa Type “D”. This visa is for foreign citizens who intend to stay in the Republic of Albania for more than 90 days within 180 days, and to obtain a residence permit; these citizens are required to have a visa.
Albania eVisa required documents
The required documents for an Albania eVisa depend on the type of visa you are applying for. However, here is a general idea of the documents required:
- completed online visa application form
- proof of employment from the country of birth or residence
- passport-sized photograph of the applicant (47 mm x 36 mm).
- statement for minors, expressing parental/legal guardian consent as per legislation.

- documentation demonstrating sufficient financial means for the stay and return, meeting legal requirements in the Republic of Albania.

To apply for an Albanian eVisa, follow the steps given below:
- register on the Albania e-visa portal
- fill out and complete all the required details.
- the application will be reviewed by the consul after submission. The consul pre-verifies the application and documents and notifies you about the outcome of the application check:
- correct application: You’ll receive an acceptance notification requesting the visa fee.
- irregularities: The application is sent back for the correct documents.
- ineligibility: Application rejected as per legal framework.
- after approval of your application, a request for fee payment is sent.
- upon fee payment, you will receive an email confirming the application’s “evaluation process” stage.
- within 15 working days (up to 30 in exceptional cases), you will receive the decision via email.
