The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted around 3000 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India. Wego reports that visas have been issued for pilgrims to attend the celebrations of the 554th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, to be held in Pakistan from 25 November to 4 December 2023.

With the issuance of this visa, Sikh pilgrims can visit multiple religious shrines in Pakistan, such as Dera Sahib, Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib. The celebrations for the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak are all set to commence at the Gurudwara Sri Panja Sahib in Hasanabdal.
Aizaz Khan, the Charge d’Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, expressed his elation at the achievement and wished the pilgrims a safe journey.
According to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi press release, issuance of these visas is covered under the framework of the Pakistan-India Protocol on visits to Religious Shrines of 1974.
